TV producer, newly wed couple drown

AppId is over the quota AppId is over the quota TV producer, newly wed couple drown? Our Correspondent, GazipurThree people including a newly wed couple and an executive producer of a private television channel drowned in a pond at Rajendrapur area in Gazipur on Friday.

The deceased are Jamil Akhter Lipu (33), his wife Asma Akhter Ira (25) and Tanbir Zahid Noyon (32), executive producer of Channel Ekattoor.

Jamil and Tanbir went on a tour of Banglabazar Gozariapara of Gazipur Sadar upazila on Thursday with their spouses and stayed in Shiruni Cottage there.

While the four were walking beside the pond of the cottage in the morning Asma slipped and fell into the pond. Jamil jumped into the pond to save his wife but when both of them started drowning Tanbir also jumped into the pond to save them. Eventually all the three drowned, local people said.

Local people, hearing screams of Tanbir?s wife, rescued them from the pond and rushed them to a local hospital where doctors declared them dead.

Officer in charge of Joydevpur police station Md Kamruzzaman said nothing can be said before investigating the incident.
